Box.  What a great character.  I would have liked to have seen more.

Nuff Said!

Ted Pugliese !
Great Post!

Well said.

I am not an emotional man, but that was touching.
I hope that John Byrne UNDERSTANDS that his work is appreciated on many levels.

Simply a great issue.  I first picked up Alpha Flight at #23.  I bought the back issues and collected JB's entire run years later.  I already knew what the results would be.  My heart still raced, my hair stood up on end, and I was still begging that what I knew would happen in #12 would not.

That's powerful storytelling.  Iconic cover too (as well as the next one).

What a great issue.  Unfortunately my first issue of AF was #17 so I picked it up as a back issue and already knew who died.

JB:  Something I never picked up on until now...was the cover meant in any way to throw off first time readers and imply that Guardian was facing off against the X-Men???

GOD NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm reliving the anxiety all over again.

I hate you, Ryan, for putting me through this all over again !!!

FRACK !!  (wow, spell check picked that up and it's all caps ??? so goes my acronym thoery...)

No way Guardian was going to die -- it was Shaman all the way in my head and I figured some young punk indian kid would be contacted by the great spirits and take over as a new Shaman.....

Jean Grey dying hurt me 'cause that was someone's love being killed -- Guardian hurt me 'cause that was a hero dying.

This issue really solidified Guardian as a great character for me --- wow -- I still can't get over what happened next.....

WONDERCON --- yeah, I'll start a thread soon -- after Xmas -- I definitely hope a few JBFers can make it -- -it would be very cool to bend the elbow with whomever can make it.

I hate this reading club (sob sob sob)

WHY ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Believe me or not, the french editor at this time  "cut" almost half of the pannels where Walter turns into Sasquatch ! I really really can't wait to see them in the next AF TPB !

These pages are really awesome ! Sasquatch has my favorite "strong" character design. Bellabet and BOX come just after ...

JB, THANK YOU for all the fun !

Gil, "you magnificent bastard!!" I was just now wondering who owned that
very page and there's your post.

I admit a twinge of jealousy as it's a fantastic page of my favorite AF
character.

I'll be crying in my coffee between now and Thursday.  I need to get cracking on two issues worth of scans, I'll be out of town for the holidays, so it'll be emotional overload from now through the dream sequence.
