JB, did you have Elizabeth in mind as a future member of AF when you did
Michael's origin?
••
Yup. She was created to become Talisman. (Altho, originally she was to
have another name. One that turned out to be already in use. Oddly, I can't
recall what that name was!!)

As much as I love Guardian, it's Puck that I would want to see JB return to do
more stories about…
••
I do miss Puck. Well. My Puck, anyway!

Hmmm, I never noticed that trail of blood behind Puck on page 14, panel 2 - that's what it looks like anyway.

I love the cover to this issue. One of my nominations for the JB Comic Book Cover Hall of Fame.

A neat little self contained story. Great issue.

One note about this issue. It is here that Puck for the first time actually names the disorder which caused his dwarfism, achondroplasty. I looked it up. I wanted to be sure I got the condition right. In the process, I discovered that it is a painful condition, and also referenced this.Unfortunately, when Bill Mantlo took over writing ALPHA FLIGHT, despite doing a mountain of homework -- he actually cut up issues and pasted panels together to make a kind of "Cliff Notes" for himself -- he apparently picked up only on the painful part, and missed the reference to the disease. Thus, Puck ended up possessed by a demon. Ah, well!
