Great civilian scene with Shaman. Alpha Flight! I bet nobody saw that coming.

Well, with everything that's been happening with/to Wolverine, I'm sure the reaction from some folk will be "It's about time!!"

Love the way you draw Guardian’s helmet as a helmet! (Hmmm, where are we in the timeline here - is he still Vindicator, or has Jimmy made the change yet?)

In this alternate timeline he was NEVER “Vindicator”. Guardian only, ever and always!

WTF does Canada have to vindicate?

Touché, sir. Love the reasoning.

Actually, that’s a very good question. Aside from being a cool-sounding code name, what was the rationale behind “Vindicator”? Was there ever any perceived national guilt Canada had to clear?

Wahoo!! Alpha Flight! Love these two characters. I know there's zero chance but just imagine an Alpha Flight Elsewhen.

Shaman is my favorite Alpha Flight member.

Good to see him and Mr. Hudson again.

Chris named him Vindicator against my wishes.

As a fan character I’d named him Guardian after the verse in the Canadian national anthem, “we stand on guard for thee”. But when I brought him to Marvel I was informed there were “too many” Guardians already, so another name had to be chosen. Immediately wags around the Office started calling him “Major Maple Leaf”. When the final moment came Chris used Vindicator (actually the name of a WW2 American dive bomber) to “prevent” Major Maple Leaf becoming permanently attached.

I was not happy, and when Alpha Flight (also a Chris name I did not like) got their own book, one of my conditions for working on it was that I could restore Guardian’s “real” name.

I was already having a case of the Mondays at just after six in the morning. This page cured me instantly.
