I don't think any other writer gave it such thought, but now that you mention it that is a good way to explain the later stories where he seemed to heal in seconds.

Almost a last gasp of ol' fashioned Marvel serendipity, there. Random stuff that somehow comes together as if it was always meant to be.

Mind you, I am loathe to even think about the madness that would be unleashed if some of these current writers got it into their heads there was something "magical" about Wolverine. Oy!
