Deep in our hearts we Americans see ourselves as gun slinging cowboys. Most of us will never level a gun at another human being. But notice how we will snipe each other at the drop of a hat on social media. Or go to court over the most petty matters (they say lawsuits became popular just as gun duels went out of fashion in the mid 1800's).
One day we will abandon guns and then change the law to reflect that. Hopefully not because have fallen in love with another more devious weapon. Killer drones, maybe?
