I received the Pfizer vaccine.

First shot was on 02/18/21. My arm was sore and I felt tired for a day or so.

Second shot was on 03/11/21. My arm was sore again, and I felt feverish for about a day.

I've been fine ever since.

Both of my parents got vaccinated, and neither of them had any notable side effects.

I'm scheduled for this Monday to get my first
Pfizer shot. My wife on Thursday. I booked them
both a few minutes after midnight on the CVS
website. I did so on two separate days. Nothing was
open but after Midnight the same local pharmacy
opened up for appointments. Just a time tip for
those who keep missing out.

I got my second Pfizer shot yesterday. So far I feel fine today. The procedure was much less formal than the first. They were like "you know the drill? OK, hang out for 10 minutes before you leave" but they didn't make us prove how long we had waited or anything.

Nice to see that Ted Cruz hasn't got a Scooby Doo how
vaccinations work and thinks that because he has been
vaccinated, he can't be a carrier.

The lack of common sense in the Republican Party is
frightening in its level

Got my first shot (Moderna) yesterday.  Arm somewhat sore, but not as bad as it was last night.  Based on my wife's reaction when she got hers, I'm expecting the real fun to happen when I get my second shot, on April 21st.

My parents in their late 70s should be getting their first shot next week, and what a relief that will be to me! Crazily enough we had some attempt at an anti-vaccine 'rally' way over and up here, but it seems very few showed up. There always seems to have to be some loundmouthed F-ups to take a bad situation and make things even worse. The extreme being trying to actually destroy supplies for others.

If I could choose I'd choose Moderna but they aren't allowing choice on this. I'll settle for J&J or even Astro-zeneca at my age in the early 50s and not too many serious health issues. They've been moving the schedules up a bit so hoping that still stays true when it comes to my age group.

But at at the end of the day....OK. What can you do?

Every shot in an arm is that much closer to herd immunity.

Are there fucks that game the system to get ahead of those more needy?
Sure. Happens all the time. In every situation possibly imaginable.

Perspective from the side of the medical community here...

I've personally given - literally - thousands of vaccines since late December. To
Matt's (and others') point...this does happen. And yes, we know who you are,
and we know when it's happening. We also know that you're an irresponsible
risk to the rest, which is why we still vaccinate you...at that point it isn't about
protecting you as much as it is about protecting everyone else FROM you.

Got my first shot yesterday (Pfizer) and my arm is sore, but I really feel energized.  Other than the arm, I am not feeling bad at all, quite the opposite.  My second dose is in 4 weeks and I'm anxious to get to it.

Majority of 1st doses for the mRNA vaccines are arm soreness...differs a bit if
you have any COVID-19 antibodies...the 2nd dose causes the immune system
trigger...how strong depends on multiple factors.

In what ways does it differ, Bob, if you have the antibodies?
