For some reason, I totally remember the follow-up issues where Starlin had Superman team up with J'onn J'onzz and Supergirl (he introduces Warworld and Mongul--and has Superman "meet" God?), but I remember absolutely nothing about the GL issue!

I just realized I actually own the Starlin DR. STRANGE issues!  I recently bought the latest Marvel Epic Collections, including DR. STRANGE Vol. 4, which has those stories and also (going back to a match I mentioned wanting to see) the DR. STRANGE ANNUAL by P. Craig Russell!  I guess I should get reading!  (Finishing up the latest MS. TREE and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN "The Goblin's Last Stand" collections!  This is a great time for reprint collections!)

Colin C. - Quite right, and I slipped. Between King Size, Giant Size, Annuals, and the GOOD reprint titles... I get confused. We old people do. Except for Mr. Byrne, of course.

Those Starlin Dr. Strange issues were heavily inked by Rudy Nebres.

My first job at Marvel was inked by Rudy, chosen deliberately to obliterate my style, as I learn years later.

Eric J- Hey, I just got that Epic too! Haven't started reading it either.

Haven't seen those stories in decades, will be interested to see how Nebres inked Starlin now that I know (and care) more about those things.

Gotcha.

But something you said has stuck with me. I used to be bothered when certain inkers like Nebres inked my favorite artists but you pointed out that I wasn't bothered when other inkers like Ordway or Palmer inked just as heavy.

A few more random ones...

CHALLENGERS OF THE UNKNOWN by John Byrne--Besides the fact that JB can access his inner Kirby when necessary, but a lot of what I saw in NEXT MEN (costumes, story lines, that particular stage of JB's artwork) would have been great for the Challs.

DR. STRANGE by Jim Steranko--His "pop art" effects would be great for the Dark Dimension and other mystic realms!

THE FLASH by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee--I just think that Lee's style goes quite nicely with the Flash's costume.

I was thinking Roger Stern and Ron Frenz would make a great team to work on the JUSTICE LEAGUE... but the Hulk sounds perfect, too!

Whose idea was it to give Dr. Strange a mask? (The look worked for me in some shots, but not others, so I prefer him sans facial covering.)
