She-Hulk has undergone some really major changes in AVENGERS over the past few years, starting when she was nearly killed by Thanos during the early days of Civil War II. When she revived, she had PTSD such that her Hulk manifestation was driven by fear; she was gray and much more violent than before.
After that, she settled into being what you'd consider a female version of the classic Hulk: big, green, not (apparently) all that smart, and capable of increasing her strength when angry.
It's turned out that "Jen" is conscious inside at all times and can switch back to human when she needs to have more complex conversations with her teammates or others.
But it's true, she's nothing like JB's version of She-Hulk these days.

Definitely not on model from an established and VERY popular look most of us know and love. I very much don't like knocking out the line art in place of color for the back lighting effect. I fixed the link:

https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Jennifer_Walters_(Earth-616)# Personality

"However, after years of being objectified and sexually harassed as She-Hulk, Jen would come to prefer her Celestial-augmented Hulk form over her previous She-Hulk forms despite fearing she could lose control of her power. A proud feminist, she was a staunch supporter of both Captain Marvel - encouraging her to fight for her beliefs regarding the use of Ulysses Cain's powers, and commenting she would have taken Carol's side had she been able to - and of Jane Foster's tenure as Thor. She also came to loathe what she viewed as Tony Stark's ego-driven need to always be proven right, and Bruce Banner's refusal to recognize that her superhero life could be in some ways worse-off than his own; remarking that she once wished they could trade places."

Make of it what you will....

@Michael Murphy: So the implication being how she was portrayed in the eighties lead to harassment that emotionally destroyed her? That is not the direction John would have continued taking her in.  John wrote her as confident in her sexuality and able to kick the ass of those who would would attempt to objectify and harass her.  Her self-concept was as strong as her gamma-powered muscles. SMH!

Christopher, I'm not a fan of the new direction either. I am not a regular reader of Avengers but I happened to read the issue where we were given that explanation. It seemed to me to fly in the face of everything we knew about She-Hulk. I was really disappointed because JB took Jen, a character I always thought was nothing special, and really made me care about her.

I actually find the entire Avengers run by Jason Arron to be a bit of a letdown. I feel like I may have mentioned this on the board before, but I was really looking forward to his Avengers. I thought his Thor was second only to Simonson's run and loved his Southern Bastards from Image but I was disappointed by the first story arc so I stopped reading it but would occasionally check back to see if it improved and, unfortunately, it hasn't.

Christopher, it sounds to me like someone decided they needed to make Jen into a #MeToo movement character.

Marvel should just be honest and state it simply: their comics aren't for us anymore. And I'm cool with that. I wish they eventually garner legions of new fans in Generation Woke. I just feel sorry for the thousands of LCS who hold the bag, sitting on unsold books, week after week. Many of the LCS owners are getting on in years. It's not like they can close shop and start over again.

@Michael: I'm trying to recall if John had a real-life model/s/bodybuilder/s in mind for his portrayal of Shulkie?!

Aaron's  run on Avengers has been very up and down but his She-Hulk has been awful.
