Three pages of Spider-Man and Nightcrawler in JB pencils is pure
awesomeness.

"I’ve encountered fans who declare that when it comes to drawing backgrounds, rubble, wreckage, heck, even trees “don’t count”. There’s an odd mentality that somehow doesn’t make the connection that every line on a page is a line someone put there."

************************************************************ **************

Very true! I can not speak on behalf of anyone else but I have always appreciated every comics artist that bothered to provide the reader with the framing context of a 'background' - particularly when, regardless of the change of 'camera angle', those backgrounds remained reassuringly consistent (a trait of your own that has long impressed). I despair at the 90s trend to dispense with backgrounds almost completely. Those artists were merely drawing unrelated images - and most certainly not telling a tale via obviously sequential panels. The more you make it easy for a reader to follow the story, the more they'll come back.

Wow, what a start! Love the shot of Kurt and Spidey crashing through the wall.

A mutant, like Nightcrawler, buying into the Daily Bugle's line of "Spider-Man - Threat or Menace"? It's not implausible. These stories take place in the "here and now", after all.

Nightcrawler may be VERY confused at the moment. It seemed that everyone who was locked into a sentinel was mistreated and considerably disoriented.

Let’s entertain the possibility there are side effects to being an unwilling participant in Shaw’s Sentinel program.

Earlier than usual page 4 is a nice treat with my coffee. Kitty's code name should have been "The Fly" because she is about to get into another container of ointment. All through Elsewhen she has been a wildcard that throws everyone the X-Men meet for a loop. Perhaps my memory is failing me, but I don't remember he being quite this big a nuisance to opponents in comics over the years. I remember he being more like an unhittable target as apposed to a facilitator of the unexpected. Love it.

The first panel is nicely reminiscent of Neal Adams. I'd almost forgotten about the D'bari. Had to go back and re-read the last issue. How does Kitty know about the 100 hours? Looking back at that last issue, the panel where they mention 100 hours indicates that Cyclops can't understand what they're saying. Maybe I missed it being mentioned again somewhere.

Thanks to the sneak preview in the methadone thread we have some idea about the next few moments. Looking forward to seeing it with the script though.

Kitty and Cyclops make for a powerful combination. Scott firing optic blasts while Kitty protects him with intangibility as they randomly appear through the walls and floor.

It's great seeing Kurt back in the action, even if the action is causing Spiderman some grief!

Gotta admit that looking at today's page, just for a sec, I wondered if Kitty's view aligned with the third panel.  But then I remembered JB don't make those types of mistakes!  And of course he didn't... LOL

Hmm. Would this work? Cyclops able to fire while being made intangible?
