The increase in size of the White Star in Bab 5 is a curious one for me - it didn't look that big to start with but has grown over the course of the series.
It's a great piece of work that video.

Nice to see Tintin's Moon Rocket including among my favorites!
I kinda wish the new version of the Gatlantis 'Ark of Destruction' (The Comet Empire fortress in the original) from Space Battleship Yamato 2202 made an appearance for the "larger-than-Earth" size vessels... But dwarfing the Planet Saturn, much of the detail would have been lost.

I'm a big fan of Tintin so it was a nice surprise to see the Moon Rocket.
Very cool stuff, thanks for posting it JB.

The E.T. ship was much bigger than I thought.

I miss a lot of older craft, but these ships (with the exception of Tintin's rocket, the Discovery, and the Enterprise) seem "newer" to me, and thus omitting other craft. (Some of the others may be on the older side, and I may not be familiar with them.)
I shall respect Mr. Byrne's desire to leave out other ships, but so many of them leapt to mind as the comparison started. Okay, I'll mention one; I'd love to have seen the Proteus in there, at miniaturized size. (Of course, it might have BEEN there... :)

Great video. All I can think is how long it would take to walk from one end to the other of so many of these ships -- "Sorry I was late to another meeting, Mr. Vader."

Fascinating! That was quite enjoyable. Never realised the White Star was longer than the Enterprise!

Likewise Scott - or at least, I didn’t until a couple of years ago.
I put it down to a couple of reasons, one minor, one my mind still can’t get around.
The first is that it just didn’t look like it was that big. But I need to check this in the shots where it is zipping around the station.
The second - is that it zips around like an X-Wing.
I’ve never liked shots of the enterprise when it zips - it’s not that kind of ship - it’s a large battleship. It’s graceful in its movements - TWOK shows this beautifully.
For a ship that large to pull the manoeuvres the white star does is just crazy, especially with that design. I should also say that I had this problem with later iterations of ships called enterprise as well, because everyone seemed to forget that they were big buggers

The White Star is how big?!?!
I assumed it was no bigger than the Millennium Falcon the way it zipped around! I fully agree with James above - the Enterprise in TWOK handled it perfectly. Later Star Trek movies and tv shows really messed this up horribly.
-----edited to add this thought: Even the Falcon in the first movie moved slow and heavy, only to become faster and more maneuverable than most TIE fighters in subsequent films!
