Are there any other active writer/artists out there today?

Mr. Byrne was on 2 and it seems to me sometimes 3 books for stretches of time over the years (writing/penciling/inking Alpha Flight, writing/penciling/inking FF and writing The Thing simultaneously in 1983.) I chose a random Mighty Marvel Checklist from August 1980 and can see 3 penciling jobs that month (Cap 248, FF 221 and Xmen 136).

Marvel and DC have a lot of titles that come out every two weeks now. That's the equivalent of two titles per month. And everyone from Ivan Reis to Joe Bennett seems to be able to do it.

The number of writer/artists for the Big Two does seem to be shrinking, though.

Of course JB's style isn't as "dramatic-realist" as Adams' (not a criticism, just an observation) but in superhero comics that really, really doesn't matter.

••

I occasionally curse Neal's name for his ability to draw photo-realistic images without losing any of the dynamism of the form.

Vinny, it was said that Greg LaRocque (Legion of Super Heroes etc.) was lightning fast. Ditto for Mark Bagley.
