Ford was the most successful postseason pitcher of all-time, starting Game 1 of the World Series 8 times, winning 10 World Series games and pitching 33 2/3 consecutive World Series innings to break the record held by Babe Ruth.  In 2015 it was suggested by The New York Times sportswriter George Vecsey that Ford was "The Greatest Living Yankee."

We've lost a lot of Hall of Fame caliber athletes in 2020 - Kobe Bryant, Tom Seaver, Gale Sayers, Bob Gibson, Wes Unseld, Willie Davis, Lou Brock, Al Kaline, Whitey Ford and even Curly Neal

F.U. 2020.

And three days later we add another to the list - Joe Morgan, two-time MVP for The Big Red Machine, and one of the greatest second basemen in baseball history.
