So we're clear, on the season I'm 30-17-1 and 7-3 v my frenemy.  Doing well even in a COVID world.

And the rest...

Sunday,10/04

  • Saints at Lions - Bounce-back for Brees.
  • Colts at Bears
  • Cardinals at Panthers
  • Ravens at Football Team
  • Chargers at Buccaneers
  • Seahawks at Dolphins
  • Jaguars at Bengals - The Bungles finally get the first win in the Burrow era.
  • Browns at Cowboys
  • Vikings at Texans - COVID interruptions just compound an already monumentally bad defense.  How they went from what they've historically been under Zimmer to this?  It's mind-numbing.
  • Giants at Rams
  • Bills at Raiders - Riding the hot hand.
  • Patriots at Chiefs
  • Eagles at 49ers

Monday,10/5

  • Falcons at Packers

And, I have to admit, I did end up watching most of the game on my second TV.  What was more Jets?  What sums up that team over the last decade+?  They get a first down in Broncos territory with 6+ minutes on the clock and down by one.  A challenge flag is thrown and it's ultimately determined that it's 4th and inches.  At this point, the Jets are losing by 1.

4th and inches.

At home.

In their opponent's territory.

Winless.

And what do they do?  Go for the field goal to put them up by two.  Even the math doesn't make sense. Given they're at home and such a shitty team, trust your offense to get inches which may ultimately result in aTD a couple of plays later and a 2-point conversion puts you up by 7.

Nope.

Gase takes the field goal and ultimately gives up ten points in the last six minutes.

Sorry, Jets fans, but they're awful.  Absolutely.  100%.  I've never coached a down in any variation of football and even I knew that was a stupid call. The sideline shots were brutal.

Due to the Titans' players testing positive, their game with the Steelers had been moved to week 7.  Someone help me remember.

Watched it in 45' GamePass replay : bad Teams make
bad throws, boneheaded fauls and calls...referees
were at the same level BUT I cursed myself for my
Run,Sam, run when Jets open the score with
Darnold's great Escape, liked ballsy Deep shots by
Ripien then insulted his stupid int (Desir Man of
the match ? Torched but 2 int including a pick6)
and a decent suspens in the end. On top of that 1-0
against my frenemy leader of the biz Rick Senger !
Not a bad game as we won't get nothing by sunday !
I always say football is a great sport when played
at the highest level / horrible at low level
(that's why I don't go to french games) but I liked
this one.

Didn't watch any of it. Just caught the highlight package later and obviously I'm fine with missing another example of Jets futility.

Cam Newton of the Pats tests positive. No other positives on NE yet but as we've learned in the past few days, things can change quickly. Pats / Chiefs rescheduled to Mon or Tues but we'll see if that also doesn't change.

This is gonna confuse me, FAST.  I hope they keep a lid on this thing.

My picks:

Sunday,10/04

  • Saints at Lions
  • Colts at Bears- Nick Foles is awesome - if you let him watch the first quarter of the game then send him in.
  • Cardinals at Panthers (MATT DISAGREES!) - There were two games I could not decide on.  SO I checked out Matt's picks and we were arm-in-arm except for two games.  So I am taking my shot.
  • Ravens at Football Team - Ravens get some confidence back.
  • Chargers at Buccaneers - This smells like the season's first shutout.
  • Seahawks at Dolphins - Somebody is gonna outgun the Seahawks.  They will be undefeated until that happens.
  • Jaguars at Bengals - CAT FIGHT!
  • Browns at Cowboys - Rooting for the Browns, of course.
  • Vikings at Texans (MATT DISAGREES!) - Gamble #2
  • Giants at Rams - Yawn
  • Bills at Raiders - Bills are for rills
  • Patriotsat Chiefs - Let's see what Bellichick's D comes up with.
  • Eagles at 49ers - Yawn II: the yawnining

Monday,10/5

  • Falcons at Packers - Falcons, unable to take the pressure, decide to just trail for the entire game.
And my Potential Tie Pick?  Jags and Bengals, knotted at 24

Sunday games...

Sunday,10/04
  • Saints at Lions - Right
  • Colts at Bears - Right
  • Cardinals at Panthers - WRONG. HAGERMAN RIGHT. After a 2-0 start, the Cards are looking like a team in disarray.
  • Ravens at Football Team - Right
  • Chargers at Buccaneers - Right
  • Seahawks at Dolphins - Right
  • Jaguars at Bengals - Right
  • Browns at Cowboys - Wrong.  As a Vikings fans, I could have told you that the McCarthy hire was going to end badly.  As well as the offense is playing, they are literally one fucked up onside kick from being 0-4. Dak is setting records and they still find a way to lose.
  • Vikings at Texans - WRONG. HAGERMAN RIGHT.  I'll take it.  Our D is still fairly awful and wasn't helped by Smith being ejected, but we've found something on offense.  Still gonna be a shitty season.
  • Giants at Rams - Right
  • Bills at Raiders - Right
  • Eagles at 49ers - Wrong.  Woof.  Kittle went off (glad I have him on both my fantasy teams!) but the backup QB's looked all kinds of awful.  The Eagles now lead the historically terrible NFC East 1-2-1.  Laughable.

With two MNF games left to play, I'm 9-4 on the week and 0-2 v Hagerman.
