Before I post my picks, I just want to say, with extreme confidence, that this is the worst slate of games to have to pick first in the history of competition.

Ahem.

Sunday,9/27

  • Raiders at Patriots - It's fun to pick against the Patriots now.  But it's also fun to win picks still.
  • Bears at Falcons - Oh goody, third game of the slate and here's two teams that I have not an ounce of fucking faith in.
  • Bengals at Eagles - It happened again!
  • 49ers at Giants - OH COME ON!
  • Texans at Steelers - Better, but not much.  If a coach or QB find a way to subvert Pittsburgh's swarming D, they could make them hop out of their shoes and be embarrassed.  A good play-action or pump fake and there's a 60+ yard TD.
  • Titans at Vikings - Oh brother.  Well, I can at least make Matt pick against his own team if he wants this one.
  • Football Team at Browns - This honestly feels like my best pick so far.  Football Team is as forgettable as their name implies.
  • Rams at Bills - These teams don't suck, but they seem evenly matched.  No clue.  Home field.
  • Panthers at Chargers - Chargers' QB found out at the last second he was starting and he did very well save for a game-killing INT.  He's had a week to prepare for this one and knowing my luck will get creamed.
  • Jets at Colts - Feels safe.
  • Lions at Cardinals - Some guy on ESPN put it best: "Does anyone want to be playing the Cardinals right now?"
  • Cowboys at Seahawks - How do you beat this team?  Shootout doesn't work.  If you get in the trenches, they just pretend it's a shootout anyway. I am predicting a shootout.  Over 60 total points.  But no more than two lead changes.
  • Buccaneers at Broncos - God damn it.  This is the seventh coin-toss pick this week.
  • Packers at Saints - Going with a pick that might seem like an upset, but not really.  Packers by ten.

Monday9/28

  • Chiefs at Ravens - I predict Tuesday morning the Ravens will be the talk of the league.  Hopefully because they won!
Potential Tie Pick: Rams 16, Bills 16.  They go into OT tied 10-10.

Sunday,9/27

  • Raiders at Patriots
  • Bears at Falcons
  • Bengals at Eagles
  • 49ers at Giants - I could absolutely see the G-Men getting their first win here.
  • Texans at Steelers - Brutal start to the season for the Texans.  Chiefs, Ravens, Steelers.  Ever since trading Hopkins last season, Housing just has no identity.
  • Titans at Vikings - DISAGREE!!  I had already planned to pick against the Vikes.  Until they do something, ANYTHING, to prove me wrong I'll be picking against them.
  • Football Team at Browns
  • Rams at Bills - DISAGREE!!!  Rams D is nasty.
  • Panthers at Chargers
  • Jets at Colts
  • Lions at Cardinals
  • Cowboys at Seahawks - Shootout indeed.  Cowboys D is just too dinged up.
  • Buccaneers at Broncos - DISAGREE!!  It's Driskel under center for the Broncos.  He'll find a way to lose it.
  • Packers at Saints

Monday9/28

  • Chiefs at Ravens
Difficult slate of games, I agree.  Just three disagrees.

Regarding me forgetting to post my pick for Rams-Eagles last week, I can't believe I didn't catch that one. But I got it wrong, anyway.

I'm happy and depressed at the same time.

Bears win, Mitch benched.  His Bears (NFL?) career is done.

Ah well, Bears are 3-0 and that feels really good.

Sunday slate...

Sunday,9/27

  • Raiders at Patriots - Right
  • Bears at Falcons - Wrong.  Gase and Quinn are the two coaches battling to become the first fired in 2020.  Just awful.
  • Bengals at Eagles - TIE!
  • 49ers at Giants - Right.  Niners had roughly 11 players out and still dominated on the road.  Great gameplan.
  • Texans at Steelers - Right.
  • Titans at Vikings - RIGHT!  HAGERMAN WRONG!!  As well as the Vikes played today, I wanted to be proved wrong.  But I wasn't.  When it counted, the O line crumbled on four downs under two minutes.  I'm very nearly in the "Tank for Trevor" camp.
  • Football Team at Browns - Right
  • Rams at Bills - WRONG. HAGERMAN RIGHT!  Rams almost came back to win it, had the lead in fact, but lost in heartbreaking fashion.
  • Panthers at Chargers - Wrong.  Herbert looks like the real deal, however.  Don't know how they can go back to Tyrod.
  • Jets at Colts - Right.  The Jets aren't even a functioning NFL team at this point. Such an embarrassment.
  • Lions at Cardinals - Wrong.  Too many Murray INT from which to recover.
  • Cowboys at Seahawks - Right.  Called a shootout and it was.  Exciting game from start to finish.
  • Buccaneers at Broncos - RIGHT! HAGERMAN WRONG!  I said Driskel would lose it for them and I was right.  He was pulled in the second half.  Easy win and the first for the Bucs in Denver since the early 90s.
  • Packers at Saints - Unfortunately RIGHT.  Great game decided by just a very few miscues.
9-5-1 and 2-1 v Hagerman with MNF left to go.

Thursday,9/24 Dolphins at Jaguars JAGS Wrong
Sunday,9/27 Raiders at Patriots PATRIOTS Right
Bears at Falcons FALCONS Wrong
Bengals at Eagles EAGLES Tie
49ers at Giants NINERS Right
Texans at Steelers STEELERS Right
Titans at Vikings TITANS Right
Football Team at Browns BROWNS Right
Rams at Bills BILLS Right Phil Wrong
Panthers at Chargers CHARGERS Wrong
Jets at Colts COLTS Right
Lions at Cardinals CARDINALS Wrong
Cowboys at Seahawks SEAHAWKS Right
Buccaneers at Broncos BUCS Right
Packers at Saints PACK Right

10-4-1, 1-0 vs. Phil pending Monday Night.

Many nailbiters. What I know: Nobody loses like the Falcons (though the Bills and Seahawks tried.) After two indifferent games, Brady finally played like he's got some football left in him. New Yorkers had better switch to Buffalo because the Bills look to win more games than the Jets and Giants combined (they already have three more.) Trubisky played like shit for a second game in a row (even got benched) yet Da Bears are 3-0.
