A sad end (on his birthday) of artist Ron Cobb, known for his concept designs for the movie Alien and Back to the Future, and his cartooning work.

A brilliant artist. Big influence on my tech.

It was suggested on Twitter that Cobb's glyph system be adapted by all space agencies.  I'm particularly fond of the "Artificial Gravity Absent" and "Cryogenic Vault" glyphs.
