That scene is post-Phoenix.

And in the scene, Jean refers to Scott as her “lover”, surely not a term she’d use if there was nothing physical between them.

(LIZ LEMON: Lovers! I hate that word, unless it comes between “meat” and “pizza”.)

••

Standard Marvel sequencing: start out fighting, become best buds after.

Indeed, but having this young child (how perfectly fitting!) bring Wolverine back from the brink was not same-old at all.

Well done, Sir!

I really missed this kind of pacing in the X-men. You really have a gift for bring the character's personalities alive. You did it so nicely with the FF too. This is such a treat.

Even the body language feels relaxed.

Also seeing the blackbird in the hanger with the X-car --- very, very cool.

Logan's face...n'uff said!  You are seriously the only one who "gets" him.

Gosh, it's so nice having the real Jean/Marvel Girl back. She'd always been a central axle about which the X-men family turned. Maybe that's why it was so shocking when she "died".  Things feel dysfunctional when she's gone (or in a state of perpetual identity crisis). I prefer a calm between storms...less soap opera drama than became the industry norm.

Outstanding, wonderful stuff.

"Wolverine! Is that him?" I laughed for minutes. It's not especially funny, but it was so delightful.

"Jean..." From that art, and from previous story with Wolverine and Jean, I know what I expect. I also know that Mr. Byrne LOVES to switch things up... so I don't expect what I expect. I cannot wait to be surprised again.

That last panel with Logan his expression, his
eyes.
They say the eyes are the windows to the soul
I feel I have seen Logan's soul and it is not
what I expected.
Well-done and masterfully crafted.

I hope we see more R & R for our cast of mutants in the days to come.:)
A trip to the big city and a run in with the city folk of New York.

Maybe a baseball or football game ?

Cheers and keep up the amazing work JB
