A Tweet announcing his death has surpassed one by Barack Obama for the most liked Tweet.

I suspect that may hold until a certain politician dies. The big difference is, in this case its about respect. When the unnamed poltician goes, it'll be people genuinely glad he's dead.

I just spent the evening watching two of Boseman's movies:  MARSHALL (which I have never seen before, but I wholeheartedly recommend!) and 42 (which I own and have watched numerous times).

I think I'll watch BLACK PANTHER sometime on Sunday.

I genuinely do not think I have ever seen someone’s passing shared so
much by my friends on Facebook.

There was one point where I could just scroll & scroll, & all I saw was
Chadwick Boseman.

I imagine this would have been what it would have been like had
Facebook existed when Princess Di died.

This is very sad, but it highlights how much control the entertainment industry (in this case Disney) has over the media.  Four years and no one "knew" one of the biggest celebrities in the world had terminal cancer...???  So if Hollywood can stop news from coming out to the public, just imagine what control they have over the news the public is actually seeing.  Sort of adds a bit a credibility to a certain idiot's "fake news" mantra.

Rest easy Chadwick.  You were a special one.

Geoffrey Langford, it`s called respect for privacy.
Another of my heroes died of brain cancer after fighting
it for years, the general public knew nothing until his
death was announced. That`s how the news media SHOULD
be, we don`t need to know everything about a celebrity`s
life.To link such a thing to "Fake news" is just plain
wrong.R.I.P. Mr Boseman.

Geoffrey Langford - You appear to assume it was Disney
that was behind this not getting out. Any evidence to
suggest this as opposed to it being Chadwick Boseman's
wishes?

If not, what the hell are you on? It's posts like that,
that make people really angry at idiots that spread
conspiracy theories and claims of fake news.

Still, you managed to get three people to respond, so I
guess job done.

And NOTHING gives credibility to the idiot's "fake news" mantra, because :"fake news" is anything that' makes him look bad but actually true. (I want to slap someone every time I hear "fake news" or "alternative facts" (aka outright lies).

Two terms that get short shift from me Brian.

Economical with the actualities was an ever so British phrase from the
‘90s that I hated as well

What an amazing tribute from Ryan Coogler:

Los Angeles
Times: "Read ‘Black Panther’ director Ryan Coogler’s moving tribute to
Chadwick Boseman"

Can Geoffrey Langford please read the link that Tim posted & retract
his post?
Clearly states that he wasn’t telling people he was close to about his
illness as he was a private man. Disney had nothing to do with it.
