The search function is not working for me, so if there is a link to answer my question(s), please let me know.

Has anyone used Comixology.com?  Is it possible to view the books on a desktop/laptop without an app/special software?

Thanks in advance.

Yes.

Yes.

They were bought by Amazon a few years ago, so if you have an Amazon account, you can just login through that. There should be some free comics available—you might have to search—so you can test to see if you like the interface.

I use comixology via google chrome, it works great. It's how I read books like DIE and ONCE AND FUTURE and whatever Brubaker/Phillips are working on.

Edit: It's also where my 'reading copy' of DANGER UNLIMITED is located!

I use my tablet, the screen is virtually the same size as
a comic, plus you can zoom in, or read a panel at a time
if you want larger images.

That's probably a reference to the guided view.
It simulates the path of your eyes and slides across the page.

I like the experience of reading comics on a large screen monitor.

Will I need to use/download a Kindle for viewing?

It looks like I am being prompted for a download purposes.  Someone from Amazon said it would be viewable via web browser and I would not have to download the Kindle software.

You shouldn't need to, no. I just use the comixology site via google chrome, works fine.

You don't need to download the app, but it does work
better using the app, even on a laptop.

"The search function is not working for me"

I believe the point of the question has been answered,
but I did want to go back and provide a helpful tip as
the site search is disappointing.

Instead, hit up Google. And add Site:byrnerobotics.com
to your search criteria and you will be searching just
the Forum with the power of Google.
