Even as a tiny tot, "monster clown" provoked a huh?!

Seems like Urbont wasn't overly clear about the Submariner
too, who did not speak with "a Shakespearean cadence." (I
guess he maybe was thinking of Thor's thees and thous?)

Hats off for the Captain America theme, though.

“Monster clown” makes me think of what Roger Stern said when he started writing the Hulk full time. Len Wein, who’d had a run before Rog, said that the Hulk was Marvel’s Goofy. Rog said no, the Hulk was Marvel’s Donald Duck.

I first heard the last two words of the Hulk theme as " Hunk, Punk!", and been singing that way since the early seventies.
