For a family that had already suffered the unimaginable loss of one child, this is heartbreaking news.  I wasn't aware that she had been battling breast cancer for two years.  57 is too damn young.

Fifty seven is no kind of age. Especially after a protracted battle with breast cancer. A friend went through that for several years, and emerged "victorious". I cannot imagine what it would be like to suffer all that and then lose!

Very sad. I admire that they kept her illness private.

Really sad news. She always came across as a warm person with strong family values. 57 is way too young

Full disclosure:  She was my dream girl of the '80s, when I first saw her in MISCHIEF, and for years afterwards.  She was gorgeous, yes, but you could tell there was also warmth and intelligence in her (far too few) notable performances.  Especially enjoyed her roles in TWINS, JERRY MAGUIRE and SKY HIGH.

Very, very sad.  Hope Travolta stays strong for the sake of their kids.

I was shocked and saddened when I heard about this.

This was definitely very sad news.  And hit me kind of hard since I'm also 57....

But, yeah, fuck cancer.
