Now that's what I'm talking about!
It still shocks me that for all of your association with him, you've only scripted him a handful of times prior to ELSEWHEN. I like how you've basically made him the "expendable" - taking the serious lumps on the front line because he can handle it* to buy time for everyone else.
*PAINFULLY!!!!

Lots of fun here. Hoping Wolvie survives whatever Phoenix does next, but not as well as he does in modern Marvel where he probably would come back from being reduced to a single piece of ash. Must be a fun challenge writing a villain as powerful as Dark Phoenix where in theory she could just destroy the entire Earth if she wanted to. I'm expecting the Jean in the lake to come up near the end as an 'oh crap' moment where she saves the day but everyone thinks she is going to end it instead. The cruel ending would be they think Phoenix is done and Jean comes out of the lake, fully recovered but Scott acts fast in fear and kills her.
