This is impressively creepy.

I suppose we'll able to manipulate classic movies and TV
shows and "use" the actors in any way we want for new
stories.

Will anybody ask... should we...?

I seem to recall Larry Olivier* being in "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow." So it's already underway, kinda of, although I can't recall other such examples since.

I predicted about forty years ago that the REALLY hard part wouldn't be the physical appearance; the hard part would be simulating the voices. Computers can do it; but it will be tough.

All that aside, I wouldn't mind seeing Bogey in a new movie. Or a new Three Stooges short. And that requires NO social distancing, and probably not a lot of interaction between technicians.

I mean, effectively, they'd just be "cartoons." But I'll bet Hollywood doesn't care.

Except it wouldn't be Bogey, would it? It would look like him, but the expressions would be those of another actor. The voice of probably yet another actor.

Even if the tech became such that they could manipulate
virtually everything "authentically" such that almost
nothing on the screen wasn't "actually" Bogey, is that what
we want...?

Bogey's Sam Spade would be like a comicbook character,
albeit always on-model, and open to use (abuse?) in ongoing
further adventures.

A good thing?
