Enemy Ace seemed to be too honorable to side with the Nazis. Plus he'd probably be a flight instructor rather than a combat pilot during WWII.

Yet DC used him in WWII in a mini-series or something around 2001 where he did fly for Germany, mainly against the Russians. He turned against his own side once he saw Dachau. Notably, he refused to allow a swastika on his planes.
