I don't have DC Universe, so are they 8 minutes longer because of a lack of commercials?

------

No, it's just because it was originally intended for streaming, there's less of a need to make episodes fit the 42-minute mark (which would translate to 1 hour with commercials). I think the rest of the season are normal episode lengths. Just some extra setup in the first two episodes.

Brian F: "Not thrilled they killed off the actual JSA, but understand the reasoning. Besides, they can easily fix that if Degaton shows up."

Doubled and redoubled if Dr. Fate or the Spectre show up. And Hawkman and Hawkgirl do keep reincarnating... I would be more than amused to have Hawkboy in the new JSA.

TANGENT: It's been 10 years since the JSA died, including Dr. Mid-Nite. Boy, that Hooty must be tough as nails to go that long without eating, drinking, or... um, pooping on Wildcat's uniform. :)

But we saw Wildcat get knocked out of that mansion - and we didn't see him die. I would love to see Wildcat and S.T.R.I.P.E. as adult mentors to a new, young JSA. Oh, and I hope we can avoid Infinity Inc. as a name. It just left me cold.

And I' a sucker for Kryptonians. I hope we get to see Power Girl - and square and cube that if they got Melissa Benoist to play the part.. Obviously it would have to be only one episode or so... but what fun!

I would love for Brandon Routh to show up as an older Superman -- maybe he's been away from Earth for ten years for whatever reason, or working away from the public eye.

Adam, Flash might be dead, because they did show his helmet in the rubble.

I hope not. Maybe he ran away minus his helmet.

So I finally binged on all the episodes I have recorded (minus last nights). What a great show!

Last night's (6-30) episode was another great piece of work. I loved the setup... there is no doubt that the show is heading towards a great knock down drag out battle royale!

And it took me three times to recognize Justin... and it snapped into place seeing the religious paraphernalia... and then the sword. OH HELLS YES!!! Sir Justin!!! I'm not sure how Winged Victory will fit (literally... :) but I loved it. He'd make a hell of a trainer for the kids as well!

I have to wonder if Lee Travis is also lurking about, and is willing to fund the new JSA. So many possible directions, so many cool stories!

Oh, and Pat? WHO needs super hero lessons? Running through the school yelling Stargirl's identity? A little obvious...

Great fun, and it seems to me that Geoff Johns is taking good care of his property.

The show is definitely working, though I find myself a little distracted while watching it - something isn't 100% engaging my attention, and I'm not certain what it is.

I've tried to like this but I guess it's just not for me. I didn't like Harry Potter at all. I'll stick with Black Lightning and Supergirl through thick and thin probably, heck I'm back watching Coronation Street and that show could get so dire I would vow never to look at it again (and even kept the vow for as long as a year or so sometimes).

I like Stargirl as a character so I guess I just don't care for everything else. Seeing the JSA meeting room makes me want a long flashback or something, like John Byrne's Wonder Woman #130-133 crossover adventure and something else feels like a disappointing underwhelming substitute.

The only original JSA members we've seen actually die are Starman and
Hourman. Dr Mid-nite was sucked into the Shade. Wildcat got the tar knocked
out of him...everyone else we only see...a cracked lantern (that wouldn't have
been WITH GL)...a pink pen...Flash's helmet...did we see Dr Fate's helmet? I
think there are a lot of onion layers to peel back depending on the run of the
show. Johns has just put SO much stuff to tap into down the road.

Keeping me coming back so far.
Once I seen the top of that sword I blurted out "Shining Knight!". Fun seeing some of the paraphernalia and characters in live action, from my favorite DC group.

Mr. Terrific next, right?

I know he probably didn't realize she was out in costume, but Pat really should know better to run around yelling her name.
