Comedienne Julia Sweeney does a bit about how her brother struggled with cancer for ten years before it finally killed him. She thinks of him when she hears how Jesus suffered and died for our sins. “My brother suffered. Jesus had a bad weekend.”

With, one might add, the promise of Heaven waiting for him.

Trump of the bone spurs is one of the fastest on the draw to cast himself as the ultimate victim of everything. It is boggling that there is anyone on the planet genuinely sympathetic towards that shtick but it got him everywhere it would seem. I guess others with this core victimhood identity must feel great kinship. Their suffering is so unappreciated... I wish much more for a replay of the Job story than the nailing someone to a piece of wood and then doing an X-Men #101, I would appreciated that more than any destroyed emails... y'know, if 'they' are listening.

"The kingdom of heaven is spread upon the Earth and men do not see it." Yeah, I'm thinking that'd be because of all the malls, and this endless infotainment on the tv being in the way (and the house flipping polygamous sharks with twenty kids isn't much of an alternative). We need more petting zoos! Where is my baby goats 24 hour marathon channel at least!

I used to have discussions with christian friends about dinosaurs. They would say that fossils were present to test their faith. Really? Well, I think god put Trump here to test their faith. Being duped by him into support with votes gets you a ticket to the hot place. Hell for christians must be a room full of atheists laughing at them for voting for Trump.

Matthew Harrison Brady : We must not abandon faith! Faith
is the most important thing!

Henry Drummond : Then why did God plague us with the
capacity to think? Mr. Brady, why do you deny the one
faculty of man that raises him above the other creatures
of the earth, the power of his brain to reason? What
other merit have we? The elephant is larger, the horse is
swifter and stronger, the butterfly is far more
beautiful, the mosquito is more prolific. Even the simple
sponge is more durable. But does a sponge think?

Matthew Harrison Brady : I don't know. I'm a man, not a
sponge!

Henry Drummond : But do you think a sponge thinks?

Matthew Harrison Brady : If the Lord wishes a sponge to
think, it thinks!

Henry Drummond : Do you think a man should have the same
privilege as a sponge?

Matthew Harrison Brady : Of course!

Henry Drummond : [Gesturing towards the defendant, Bertram Cates] Then this man wishes to have the same
privilege of a sponge, he wishes to think!
