Just to clarify: I don't care what kind of Christian you are. I'm not one myself.

Nor is most of the world’s population. Troubling that Jesus did such a bad job of delivering his message that it is not clear and obvious to EVERYONE.

Our Cretin in Chief demonstrates that he certainly didn’t receive The Lord’s message. He seems to feel houses of worship are part of the process. That churches, as one example, must be open so that people can pray.

Relationship.
We are making sure that our relationships are maintained. We don’t
need to meet physically now that we have the tech to keep us
connected with each other.
It’s different, but if anything, we actually communicate more often
through the various methods we are using.

Those that are desperate to meet are showing their true motivations
when they keep talking about the right to assemble. This is a
government thing, not a religious thing.

I’m convinced they see this equal to early persecution in their warped
heads. So sad!

Ultimately it comes down to dollars and cents. They say in the UK locked down mosques are in trouble because their worshipers aren't motivated to donate from home. So I imagine churches aren't getting a lot of Paypal money either. So yes, get the congregants back to church, fill up the donation box, nevermind they could be going home with Covid. It's a good thing Tr.. I mean God .has approved all this.

Oh, you bet! American Christians, dominating almost every front in their imaginary war, love to present themselves as if they are a persecuted minority. That was no small part of how the Orange One got elected, by casting himself as their Savior.

Persecution has been from the beginning of Christianity one
of its central tools of propaganda. How could it not be, of
course, when its God Lord King Savior was dragged off,
beaten, broken, and killed?

The Manchurian Cantaloupe is about as close to an evangelical president as I think we are likely to see. The evangelical zealots certainly love him. I will note that if he represents what they want in leadership then they should review their requirements.

& that’s so depressing. There are countries where people are truly
persecuted, for a whole range of things. Concentrate on those rather
than made up persecution.

The lack of face to face meeting due to Covid-19 in no way equates to
people getting put in jail or worse because they are not allowed to
actually assemble & question a government they have no say in voting
for.
It’s entitlement to the nth degree, & it’s an insult to those who actually
are suffering. & it is sickening to read, watch & hear about.

Religious folk are afraid to be out of the herd. Without all that “support” their brains might start working.

Trump is the ultimate city slicker, snake oil salesman. As you note, the evangelical adore him, but based on his entire history, he is likely atheist, he is really pro-choice -- Actually, I just don't think he cares about the abortion debate at all except for political advantage -- And even though he's had bankruptcies, he's never truly been without money and doesn't really give two shits about the common man beyond getting their vote.

The man lies, cheats both financially and romantically, is cruel and hateful, has no charitable soul, and yet too many so-called religious Christians fall for his devil-tongued con job.

As Trump himself would say... SAD!

Mr. Byrne: "American Christians... love to present themselves as if they are a persecuted minority."

Speaking as a Jew... yeah, right.

Michael Penn: "...when (Christianity's) God Lord King Savior was dragged off, beaten, broken, and killed?"

Yeah, but He got better.
