If the latter, he probably got it from my dad, who was, you may recall, the City Clerk of Calgary.

I think he retired in ‘85.

Before Disney bought Marvel, Universal Studios Hollywood licensed Marvel
characters in their theme parks. They didn't have much success with... well,
anything. I ate at a Stan Lee restaurant that was dreadful, and I don't
remember much else. But they did do this sliding pin featuring art from JB and
Dave Cockrum

Marvel just loves that Savage Land issue! Another Wolverine from that same
issue the above pin was taken from, but this one on a keychain

I think this is a bootleg button from Amoeba Los Angeles - I instantly
recognized it as being taken from the cover created for PHOENIX: THE
UNTOLD STORY. I snapped it right up - it's difficult to find any buttons with
Cyclops, and to score one with JB art was a fun treat:
