FF #250 reads like an Elsewhen issue =)

Kidding aside and sorry for the drift, but man your run on FF was good, JB. Elsewhen has the same rock solid story telling pace, density, etc. of your FF work.

I vaguely remember seeing the Ultra Boy type character now. There were so many of 'em... :^)

I think Smasher was considered Ultra Boy's counterpart in the Imperial Guard. His emblem looks similar, and there was some deal where he could download different powers through his visor as needed, or something?? That seemed to be a reference to Ultra Boy's switching his ultra-energy between different powers.

I toyed with the idea of a character who had every imaginable power, but only one at a time, and only the one he needed. So he'd spend half his time trying to figure out which power was the one he needed!

Interesting to see that Jahf and Gladiator are old friends. Outside the M'Krann crystal, I didn't get that impression... but that was a rather busy story.

Careful! You're on the verge of invoking Shooter's rule about all information being presented in the first three pages!

A snapshot of a scene without giving anything away making me eager to see and know more about what's going on. Great tease!

The idea of Gladiator as Superman/Superboy's counterpart was later reinforced with the intro of his cousin Xenith in Star Masters #1 (1995). Later Gladiator was given a son and curiously, actually Superman also has a son: Parallel lives!

That sounds a lot like the Everyman (Randy Myze) character I came up with as a kid, only to find out years later that there was already a character with that name. *sigh*
