I didn't want to derail Matt Reed's thread, so I decided to ask the question in a separate thread.

The show I'm just now getting into (technically I've been into it for a bit since I'm just starting season 6) is SUPERNATURAL.

Generally I do not like horror type shows (or movies), but I'm really digging this.  Though I have to say season 6 is a bit sluggish so far, but it's hard to match the intensity level season 5 had!

I can definitely see why people love this show so much!

So what shows are just now getting into?  Oh, and while it probably doesn't need to be said I'll say it anyway: no spoilers on anything.

I was late to the party with both Homeland and the Good Wife. I watched the penultimate season of Homeland fairly recently and then went back and caught up with the first few seasons (though still not fully through all of it).

The Good Wife I only joined with its last couple of seasons and then carried on to the Good Fight, which I think is one of the very best shows currently. Never went back to watch the early seasons though.

It's funny with Supernatural I started watching it when it was mid way into it's fourth season. And so had to very quickly binge watch my way through 3 seasons worth of DVDS. I remember at the time, I almost didn't watch it, (despite my brother's insistence that it had gotten really good) precisely because I kept thinking, "Well surely it must almost be all over by now." How little did I know!

I had almost an identical experience with Breaking Bad, except that when I began to show interest in it (mid 5th season) it really was almost over!

Those are two very rare exceptions though. Normally if I miss a shows earlier seasons I feel like I've mised the boat and so never get around to watching.(Thus I've never really had the Game of Thrones experience.)

I have to say though that the one show where I was glad I never watched the first season and instead started with the second was Blackadder. If I had watched that first season I would never have continued with it. And so would have missed out on what for me is the best season of comedy there ever was. (Blackadder II) Strange how that worked out!

I'll agree with you that THE GOOD FIGHT is one of the best series airing right now, but you do yourself a disservice if you only caught the last couple seasons of THE GOOD WIFE, the series from which it sprung.  It hits the ground running and so much of what it became is due to the groundwork it laid in those first two or three seasons.  Television at its best.

BILLIONS. Just got Showtime a few days ago, and have watched most of the first season already.

Will be getting a Damien Lewis double-shot, because we also plan on watching HOMELAND, which he was on prior to that.

Yes J.B.
I got into Breaking Bad a few years after it ended, and
it was being shown Monday to Friday each week from start
to finish. I am so glad i watched it that way, as all
the little nuances and carefully seeded plot threads
were great to spot.

I echo Jason`s opinion on season one of Blackadder!

My introduction to BLACK ADDER was “The Witchsmeller Pursuivant” in the first season. Set me on a quest for more!

I watched the first couple episodes of Fringe when they aired, then dropped out.  Tried at one point after hearing good things to get into it later but found it impenetrable.  Totally fell in love with it after it ended and I binged it streaming.
