Okay, so, what was that? The cinematography was intriguing, but the story seemed muddled and stretched, both at the same once (quite an accomplishment). The actors seemed to be sleepwalking. And the “hit-it-with-a-rock” ending?

What WAS that??

I think a lot of it is that this is what happens when you take a single novel and try to turn it into an ongoing television series.

It hit me about midway thru, that Fallen, with Denzel Washington, was a much tighter, better acted better treatment of a Police Procedural dealing with a malevolent evil force.   After that realization, there were back to back episodes where the characters seemed to be repeating the same scenes and the padding became even more noticeable.   Not having Jason Bateman after a couple episodes also hurt the mix.
