On top of Jones' Monty Python work, Ripping Yarns is also excellent, and his Medieval Lives is also typically iconoclastic (I think episodes of it can be found on Youtube).

His 'Chaucer's Knight' is another unconventional, but, to me, pretty convincing, re-reading of The Knight's tale.

RIP Terry Jones.

I can hear his high-pitched warble now:  "There's no messiah here!!"

RIP

Brilliant man and no more brilliant than when directing
and acting in Life of Brian.

Though we mark his death now, so much of what we
celebrate in the man was already stolen in the last few
years by frontotemporal dementia.

I thought of Terry Jones tonight at dinner, as I just
happened to be having spam sausage spam spam bacon spam
tomato and spam.

It's OK - it's spam-infused tomato, so it's got some spam in it.

Sad and relieved at the same time.

We have the DVDs to see how a great talent he was.
