"When evil men plot, good men must plan. When evil men burn
and bomb, good men must build and bind. When evil men shout
ugly words of hatred, good men must commit themselves to
the glories of love. Where evil men would seek to
perpetuate an unjust status quo, good men must seek to
bring into being a real order of justice.”

-- Martin Luther King Jr.

Now if only Hollywood could please stop showing us that Black people were accepted and respected in the Past, maybe modern generations would have a greater comprehension of what Dr. King accomplished.

It doesn’t half play into the ‘it never was like that’ conspiracy idiots’ hands though doesn’t it?

We should never forget, & then we would never repeat. Instead, we have forgotten, pretend it never happened, & have started to repeat.

Worrying times.

My favorite King speech was his last. People only ever see or read the last few sentences, if they see or read it at all.

I also wish more people knew the names of Ella Baker, Bayard Rustin, James Farmer, E. D. Nixon, Fannie Lou Hamer, James Foreman, Charles Sherrod, Diane Nash, et al...

MLK may have been the movement's most eloquent voice but it's not as if he killed Jim Crow all by himself, or just with the assistance of Rosa Parks.

Dr. King may very well be the greatest American ever. On the subject of ending segregation, I recommend this movie I watched recently: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4846340/

I didn't get to see HIDDEN FIGURES, unfortunately.

If you've never seen the EYES ON THE PRIZE documentary -- narrated by the late great Julian Bond -- I'm sure it's on the Internet somewhere.

Dr. King's memory should inspire all of us to fight for his dream of equality and justice.... more so now than it has been in years.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
