Brian -- yeah that kinda got "retconned."

Harder to retcon James Brown's death. (The James Brown part of the "Singers" section on DELIRIOUS still makes me crack up.)

There are lots of people - of various ages and hues - who don't "get"
Lizzo.

Iím totally burned out on her two hits. Our local pop station plays them all the time. Not constant, but close.

Brian isn't referring to the 1984 sketch where Buckwheat got shot, but rather the very real death of Billie Thomas, who played Buckwheat.

That's what I referring to. In fact, there was some flack in 1990, when 20/20 did a story on someone claiming to be Buckwheat, and treated it as fact. The person was outed as an imposter when the real Buckwhat's son revealed he had  been dead for 10 years. A producer who didn't do their due dillegence lost their job over it, and I believe there was also a lawsuit.

Going off what's been said regarding Lizzo....I do not want to "get" Lizzo. I just wish she'd go away.

The first time I ever heard of her, she was on ELLEN, performing "Juice", and I thought for a second it was some kind of joke. And not because of her physical appearance, which some seem to have an issue with, but because the song sucks.

Like Brian Miller, I'm also burned out on her two hits. I could tolerate "Good As Hell". Its a somewhat decent song....if you don't hear it at least twice a day for weeks. But I hated "Truth Hurts" right off the bat, and end up hearing it a lot, too.

I DVR'd SNL, because I wasn't feeling too well and went to bed early. When I watched it, I immediately fast forwarded through "Truth Hurts". I will also immediately change the station if it comes on the radio. I am not kidding when I say its one of the worst songs I've ever heard.

Lizzo is actually somewhat of a good singer. (She was reportedly ill when performing on SNL) But her songs leave something to be desired.

OK, y'all hate Lizzo. Duly noted. Weren't we talking about Eddie?

How many here have watched DOLEMITE IS MY NAME? Does it live up to its reputation?

Lizzo can sing. Truth Hurts is just deliberately campy. I hated it at first, but once I got it, I loved it.

DOLEMITE is fine, but not as funny as I was hoping for - it's more of a straight-up biopic. The standout of the film is actually Wesley Snipes.

DOLEMITE is fantastic. Like Vinny said, itís not slap your knee, laugh out loud funny, but itís not meant to be. Itís a great film. And Snipes was wonderful in it. Everyone was.

I watched it last night. I agree with Brian. And yes, Wesley Snipes is especially good.
