Last year I attended a school reunion. We all hit fifty this year, and the gathering was for Primary School classmates so the turnout was fairly sparse (only around a dozen or so people could make it). Anyway, after meeting up with an old buddy called Dave, I suddenly realised that he reminded of someone. This is how the conversation went from there:

ME: 'It's just come to me. You are the spitting image of Roy Scheider!'
DAVE: 'Who?'
ME: 'Roy Scheider. You know. Brody from JAWS.'
DAVE: 'Oh, really? Never seen it.'

Now, to say I was surprised is an understatement, but it did make me wonder if there was something that, for whatever reason, had just passed me by. Sticking with movies, I'll make my confession now, before I put it right this holiday season.

I have never seen 'The Wizard of Oz'

Anyone else want to chip in with their 'confessions'?

I saw the last 5 minutes of Jaws scared the living shit out of me as a kid gave an irrational fear of swimming in any kind of water that has living animals so besides the last 5 or 10 minutes so I really haven't seen Jaws

This phobia was so bad that when I saw the shark jumping on Happy Days I was screaming at the tv think I took off from the living room crying

Never seen Alien/s or Blade Runner either

The "biggest" film I've never seen is Apocalypse Now I think.

Never seen Jaws - or not all the way through, as I have seen scenes from it. The premise terrifies me.

I've never seen any of the Halloween or Friday XXIIIth films. Their premise terrifies me.

I've never seen It's A Wonderful Life. And probably ought to get round to it.

I got to watch Friday 13th as a 12 year old. Scared the living shit out of me. Watched it three years ago; it was laughable.

For those never to have seen JAWS or It's a Wonderful Life - get a Blu ray and allow yourself an evening of cinematic wonder.

Never saw E.T. Never saw Jaws. Never saw Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

I DID see Schindler's List, but I won't be able to watch it again.
