Oh, I understand that. I was merely agreeing with Paul about Eric Sofer's post.

JKMN is the chat acronym for "Just Kill Me Now," which is how I imagine a great many are reading the title to this thread.

And here I've been trying to figure out which Jack Kirby project you're talking about.

"Do I understand you correctly, that you believe anyone who has a name is showing their independence?"

Paul K. and Ronald J. - Yeah, kinda. I mean, we all have names, and I don't know that too many of us are embarrassed or ashamed of them.

Those of us with unique names seem - at least to me - to have an attitude that says, "NO ONE has a name like mine!" That's fine - we can celebrate what we will.

But when I ask what it means, I figure that someone knows what their unique names means. I see that with some frequency.

It's a bit like saying, "I own Iron Man 55!" or "I have All-Star Comics #8" and being proud of it without quite knowing what makes them special.

And very obviously, YMMV.

Parents who give their kids unique names may be doing
them a disservice. The children are less likely to be
hired or promoted within a company than people with more
common names.

I agree with you Wilson. As a teacher I get young kids with crazy names and crazier spellings every year. I don't get it. Do parents really think their children will become more original and interesting people if they have strange looking or sounding names ? That's such stupid thinking !

Remember when Frank Miller said all Marvel wanted to publish was teenaged mutant ninjas?

Remember what happened next?
