We got some crazy ass weirdos in this state, no doubt about it.
And still, there's only one standard I wish they'd use. "What if it happened to you?"
If it were their daughters, I'll bet they'd change those rules REAL damned fast.

I'm glad I'm not living in Ohio anymore. And Ohio is probably feels the same about me.

This has been out there since the spring of this year. In response, the bill's author had this to say:
from WaPo wrote:
After facing backlash, Becker wrote on Facebook Wednesday that his detractors were “crazy” and defended the legislation. In an interview with the State House News Bureau on Tuesday, Becker falsely asserted the existence of a method to save an ectopic pregnancy. “Part of that treatment would be removing that embryo from the fallopian tube and reinserting it in the uterus so that is defined as not an abortion under this bill,” he said. Again, no such procedure exists. He also said, despite the fact that his bill addresses such drugs and devices, “When you get into the contraception and abortifacients, that’s clearly not my area of expertise." |

So Jim Jordan isn't the only idiotic leader in Ohio? This news is beyond stupid.

Another example of men making rules about things of which they clearly have no real knowledge. At Thanksgiving dinner I found myself in a position of having to explain to one of my more Right-leaning acquaintances that the so-called "morning after" pill is NOT an abortion pill. That fertilization does not occur at insemination, but actually over 24 hours later. Saddest part, this was a woman!

Joe Z. - I don't know if you ever heard the results of the vote, but you're still welcome here in Ohio. You won the popular vote, but lost in the state house.

Most people don’t even understand how oral contraceptives work, let alone things like Plan B.

As an Ohioan I am very embarrassed by this. I remember when I moved back here from South Carolina about 6 years ago and was proud to be back because Ohio was far less to the lunatic right. I still feel that is the case but it makes me wonder how blind I was about how insane both states are.

People who are so horrified by the idea of abortion (I can respect that) should be wanting to hand out as many birth control and morning-after pills as possible. Unfortunately many are just wound-up ignoramuses entirely focused on the mote in someone else's eye. Of course, isn't the Catholic faith about a celebate man in a gown, yet referred to as 'father', giving out marriage advice and proscribing rules related to intercourse they are supposed to never have (a rule the church has to admit it made up and is nowhere in The Bible)? They're not supposed to read and understand the bible though, just participate in rituals recited in Latin and look at the paintings and suffering body nailed to some wood.
"And now for my next trick I'll pull a fetus out of my..."
"Bullwinkle, that trick never works!"

There is a Planned Parenthood on the way to two of the stores we buy groceries at, and there are protesters outside on the sidewalk occasionally. There's one particular individual who is there the most (sometimes the only one there) and is usually holding up a sign with a picture of an aborted fetus. ALL of these assholes are men.
