I was curious if anyone remembers a certain page from the Role playing Game that came out around 87. And It is possible as I have learned as I have gotten older that certain memories are really inventions so guess I am curious if it exists

Anyways In the back of one the books was a page advertising a campaign book coming out where The Empire was hiring bounty hunters to track down the last of the Jedi... I may have some details wrong the book to my knowledge never came out ... the page was very much either a wanted poster or set in a old west type of planet.  As a kid I was just puzzled by the..... there are more Jedis ????

I never actually owned the RPG books my friend did but at the time they were my first exposure to anything beyond the OT movies and I devoured every little detail when I could.

I was just curious if anyone had any idea that if this page exists or maybe a website somewhere that has scans of the 1st RPG.

Thanks

I wonder if the page you are looking for is in one of the manuals shown on this site:

Thanks Matt its The Tatooine Manhunt I just had the information wrong but thats the cover

I went thru some of the PDFs I forgot how good those RPGs were ... so much so Lucas himself considered them canon and told Timothy Zahn to use them for reference before he wrote his first 3 novels.

The game itself was fun wasn't too complicated as I recall to build a character and get going unlike a few other systems where building a character took nearly a whole day.

Thanks again Matt

I bought the West End game books because they were one of the only worthwhile SW products at that time (before Dark Horse, before the novels).

And in those books are the first appearances of a lot of SW information.  For example, the names of background characters and alien races.  WEG dug deep in the archives and delivered big time, imo.

I've kept them because I still love the design and artwork.

******

As I recall after Jedi there was nearly nothing besides toys and a lot of Ewok TV
movies and cartoons

The West End stuff it was like finding the lost gospels of Star Wars. So much
information. The Timothy Zahn books came out later much later. I think in
between that The NPR Radio Plays were released on cassette.

I never had any friends that were into role playing so I never got to actually play it but I bought up the sourcebooks when I could manage it just for the reference material they contained. In an era that was pre-internet and lacking in SW reference books, they were a godsend for eager fans like me.
