Here's my weekly selection from the LCS which I'll pick up sometime this week.

  • METAL MEN #2 - I'm enjoying this series. Looking forward to issue #2.
  • AMAZING MARY JANE #2 - Surprisingly, I'm enjoying this series as well.  We'll see if it can maintain its momentum.
  • AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #34 - I still have to read the previous issue.  I'm not thrilled about the 2099 storyline as I never got into it when it was previously done as its own line of comics.
  • CAPTAIN MARVEL #12 - I'm behind on this title, but the latest premise sounds interesting.

What are you getting?

Annihilation Scourge Alpha #1- Hopefully this will be as good as previous Annihilation minseries.

Avengers #26- Glad the Ghost Rider stuff is finished.

Immortal Hulk #27- Still good.

King Thor #3- I'm interested to read the entire Aaron run as whole once this is finished.

Store books -

AMAZING MARY JANE #2 - still enjoyable although I kind of feel we had the same cliffhanger two issues in a row

CAPTAIN AMERICA #16 - oh, Cap, why can't I quit you? I read an issue, get annoyed, but then I see a lovely Alex Ross cover in the "new releases" rack and here we are. A step up from last time in that I was only annoyed by the glacial pacing this time rather than glacial pacing and characterization.

IMMORTAL HULK TP VOL 05 BREAKER OF WORLDS - so I liked v.1-4 and prefer consistency with collections so back for v.5 and opting to tradewait. I think the biggest surprise of the run is how much Puck is proving to be the star of the show (like the character; just a surprising venue). That and realizing that virtually the entire cast had been killed off at one point or another. Makes it hard to take some of the "shocking death" moments too seriously, to be honest. But I like the feel of the book and am curious to see where it all goes. (To a point - not sure how I feel about the "end of time" stuff.)

Mail order books -

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #34
AVENGERS #26
KING THOR #3
VAMPIRELLA #5
MONEY SHOT #2

CROWDED #10 - I was starting to lose interest in this book but this issue was pretty solid and the ending seems to imply big things to come.

HEART ATTACK #1 - Ok idea, art's not quite up to snuff.  Probably won't keep it around.

MONEY SHOT #2 - Cheeky and fun, a little dirty too.

YOU ARE OBSOLETE #3 - Really interesting and enjoyable book.  Evil kids at their best!

Locke & Key: Dog Days One Shot: I missed this a couple weeks ago but got a reorder. Slight but fun and I'll probably always be a sucker for more Locke & Key.

IMMORTAL HULK # 27 - After last issue's build up, this issue was pure Hulk Smash stuff. And, I've always enjoyed seeing Roxxon as the heavies.

I picked up Olympia #1 as well. It was described to me as a "love letter to Jack Kirby".

***

I still have trouble believing that Disney is allowing this comic to be published considering how overtly political -- and left-wing -- it is. The head of Disney is a Trump supporter, last I knew. I guess where Marvel's comics are concerned Disney doesn't micromanage.

I mean we know that the Hulk isn't going to save the world from the companies responsible for the environmental crisis but still...that Al Ewing isn't being censored really does surprise me.

Adam, Al Ewing's message is quite clear in this book, Bruce Banner / The Hulk has decided to save humanity and the Planet from Corporations and billionaires who are the elite, by any means. Namaely, taking the fight to them because he can and no one else can or will.

As for Bob Iger, he switched from being a Democrat to an independent, and there is no love lost between Trump and him. When Iger was Head of ABC, there was a news story detailing how Trump asked Michael Flynn to reach out to Russia for help with the 2016 election. Trump has demanded Iger apologise for this.

Which he hasn't.

I also picked up SENTIENT from TKO Studios, by Jeff Lemiere and Gabriel Walta.  It's a really great science fiction story.  I've only read two TKO books, this and last year's WW II story "Sara," but both are superb.
