Deepfake Roundtable... It's funny, and yet scary at the same time how good deepfakes can get. In this video, because of the use of impersonators, some of the bodies don't fully match the person that's being impersonated, but it still is close.

Someone trying to actually fool people, and not just using the technology for humor, would likely get a proper body type and dub any voice imitations , as well as making sure the skin tone of the body matched the face. thankfully, though, this is just meant for fun.

What are your thoughts on deepfakes for fun?

It's honestly hard for me to separate my opinion of "fun" deepfakes from the knowledge of how easily such technology can, AND WILL, be mis-used. Things like revenge porn as well as political dis-information. It's already hard enough for people to separate fact from fiction, and believing lies because it confirms their own biases, just wait until there are videos backing up the fake news.

So not only can someone's career or life be ruined by a fake video, but someone who's career or life should be ruined by a real video exposing their crimes might be able to get away with it by just claiming it's a deepfake and casting enough doubt among the public that they can get away with it.

I mean, I've already seen someone online declaring that the story of Trump mocking that handicapped reporter was "fake news" and that was captured on tape in front of hundreds of people at a rally!
