I don’t recognize Fire & Ice. Ok. So she’s had more than two hits. She still shouldn’t get in. And DMB probably shouldn’t either, but their strengths in the live shows and tours will probably get them in. They’ve been quite influential in that respect.

I`d love to see Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest (local heroes)
and Motorhead get in.
As for Kraftwerk, i had no idea they were virtually
unknown in the U.S.
I would guess you may have heard The Model or Autobahn
at some point, and not known. Maybe on a movie
soundtrack.

Kraftwerk's last `hit' (and I use the term loosely *) in the U.S. was in 1981.

Autobahn was their highest charting song here, and it only reached 25 on the charts.

I first heard of them through the old 1980's show Night Flight.

*Loosely, because they didn't crack the top 100.

"Whitney Houston is the female. "

...

Well, I was thinking a Rock artist...

There's no doubting Whitney's voice but if if they're opening that door to "Pop & Roll" shouldn't Lena Horne, Barbra Streisand or Doris Day get in first?

I've read that if Motorhead gets in, they'll only induct Lemmy, Fast Eddie Clarke, and Philthy Animal Taylor. I feel that Phil Campbell, Wurzel, and Mickey Dee deserve to be inducted as well, especially Phil Campbell.

I'm both surprised and glad that The Doobie Brothers aren't already in.  I really just hate The Doobie Brothers, but assumed they were already in because it seems any drippy 60's act is in.

Priest should be in.  Motorhead too.  I don't know that either will make it.

Benatar's interesting to me in the way bands like Styx are interesting - moved a lot of records, a good amount of known songs but, ultimately, so what?  There's really a big difference between Journey and Night Ranger, after all.  Benatar's probably closer to Night Ranger.  I like her hits but, ultimately, I wouldn't vote to put her in the Rock Hall (not that anyone's asking for my vote, mind you.)

(And I think Styx should be in.)

Rundgren maybe as a producer, he was part of some popular acts and had a hit or two, but his real claim is producing 'Bat Out of Hell.'

Which reminds me, an unspoken oversight of the Rock Hall is that Jim Steinman isn't in.

Depeche Mode should be in.  I wasn't into that scene but it was huge and they were leaders.

I don't like Dave Mathews but he'll get in and it's the right thing to do.

Accepting the long established fact that the rock hall honors all kinds of pop music, Whitney Houston should get in.

Personally, I'd put Pat Benatar and Night Ranger in over the Dave Matthews Band.

But that's because I hate "Crash Into Me" and heard it on the radio way too much, and I can name more songs by the other acts than I can the DMB.

(For the record, "I Did It" is my favorite DMB song)

And I agree about Jim Steinman. And Styx.

Crash Into Me is just one of THOSE songs for me. Every time I hear it, certain memories come to the forefront. Good memories. The End of the Innocent does it, too.

I'm all for Depeche Mode getting in. They could have been relegated as an 80's one-hit wonder with "People Are People" but they evolved and stayed relevant throughout the 90's and 00's.

I didn’t know Depeche Mode did that tune! Personal Jesus is the one I always think of for them.

And as soon as I finished posting that, the radio station we listen to here at work started playing Personal Jesus. That was spooky.

I read on Eddie Trunk's site that Phil Campbell and Mickey Dee will be inducted as well if Motorhead gets in. I hate to say it, but I still don't think they'll get in.
