Overall, the costume looks pretty good.  This photo doesn't really capture Routh's likeness IMO.

UGH! Why can they get this one off version of Superman
pretty accurate but the versions in the DC movies and
Supergirl TV show are so awful and not accurate. Damn!

Glad to see they gave Superman his trunks back at least. And fixed the cape!

There's actually another pic floating that Routh's put on Instgram where he's doing the Kingdom Come cover pose of hands in front of him, and he's got more of his natural look there. (I'd show it but I can never get links right..)

Yes, that's more what I meant.  I'm not a fan of the black S/belt version of Superman but the costume seems accurate to the one in the comics.  It all boils down to the fidelity to the source conversation.

Those other shows were more about fixing what wasn't broken than getting it right.  At least for this storyline, they seem to be going for accuracy.

I'm mostly looking forward to Routh getting another shot at being Superman.  Initially, I put a lot of the blame on him for not being right for the part in Superman Returns but as the years have gone by, I've come to think that it was mostly everything else that were the problems and that he was actually a good choice.

Give him the right hair and costume(and story and direction) and he'd make a pretty decent Superman I think.

He seems immensely likable as a person and actor.  SUPERMAN RETURNS gave him almost nothing to actually do.

If he knocks this out of the park, hopefully he'll no longer be seen as the George Lazenby of Supermen!

I'm just glad he's not playing Ray Palmer. Or "Ray Palmer," really. The LEGENDS OF TOMORROW version of the Atom was more like "he's Iron Man, but has shrinking powers."

Wow, the years have made him look much more like Superman.

I enjoyed KINGDOM COME, so it's cool to see this. Extra cool that Routh is playing Superman.

I always thought he was well cast in SUPERMAN RETURNS, but let down by the material.

++++++++++++++++++++

Actually, he's going to be playing both characters during the crossover. But, Ray and Nora (played by Routh's wife) are leaving LEGENDS at some point during its upcoming season.

More's the pity. I'd rather see the introduction of Ryan Choi than have LEGENDS continue with its bogus version of Ray Palmer. (For all I know this has already happened -- I stopped watching all the CW superhero shows long ago, except for BLACK LIGHTNING, which I've never watched at all.)
