Marc Guggenheim is 49 today.

(The name he dropped was mine, multiple times on a LAW & ORDER he wrote.)

Happy Birthday, Marc!

And congrats on the wonderful Sunday LA Times feature last month - it was
great to see the print version:

Happy birthday, Marc! Recently watched all of Carnival Row and was surprised to see his name come up in the writing credits on an episode. Had no idea he worked on that show since I figured he had a full plate from all the CW stuff he works on, but, then again, he's worked on a LOT of TV. The man's a workhorse.

And he spells his name correctly, so he's ok in my book!

Belated happy birthday, Marc!

Happy Birthday Marc!

As for that John Byrne guy, he needs to stay away from women in the LAW &ORDER universe.

Just read that article about Marc that Tim linked to. Good read and had no idea Marc was actually the showrunner of Carnival Row. Really enjoyed that show, Marc! Great job. Reminds me a bit of the Arrowsmith comic, but not in a plagiaristic way like Once Upon a Time reminded me of Fables (which ABC conveniently made after not making Fables like they were supposed to). Carnival Row just covers some similar ideas while still being pretty damn original.

Hey Marc, how is the "Moon is a Harsh Mistress" adaptation going?

Neil --

I finished the script quite a while ago. I was quite pleased with it since it's a hard piece of IP to adapt. That said, I wrote it for Brian Singer (disgraced) and Fox (merged with Disney), so the project is a bit stalled at the moment, I'm afraid.

Too bad. Maybe Netflix? More Heinlein needs to be made. Start shopping it around! :)

Huge fan of Heinlein. Didn't know about this stalled project by Marc, but I don't understand why more adaptations of his work haven't been made. When you look at his friend and peer Philip K Dick (and another of my favorite science fiction authors) and how much stuff has been adapted from his work, there's a real dearth of Heinlein adaptations in film (or TV for that matter) in comparison.
