Heard today that Aron Eisenberg, known most famously for his role as Nog on Deep Space Nine, has passed away aged 50.  Details are sketchy at the moment but he did suffer from severe kidney problems and had at least one transplant in the past.  Very sad news, RIP

Sad news. 50 is no age.

Damn.  Nog really grew on me over the years.

The great material river episode of DS9 is still favorite.

RIP.

Nog was a wonderful character, and Eisenberg seemed to be a really lovely guy. I enjoyed seeing him in the DS9 doc this summer.

I watched "It's Only a Paper Moon" this weekend with his passing in mind. Wonderful episode, one of DS9's and Trek's finest hours.

I am rewatching DS9 with my 13 year old daughter and really enjoying the wonderful friendship that Nog and Jake have. Aron is more than 50% of why that works I think.
