The rest of my pathetic picks:

Sunday, 9/22

  • Bengals at Bills - Andy Dalton has put up some BIG numbers.  And the Bengals are 0-2.
  • Dolphins at Cowboys
  • Broncos at Packers
  • Falcons at Colts - I keep picking for the Colts and against the Falcons.  I'm 1-1 picking both teams.  Something's gotta give.
  • Ravens at Chiefs - Ravens D must control this game if they're going to stand a chance.  KC will not lose a shootout.
  • Raiders at Vikings - Just 'cause.
  • Jets at Patriots - AYFKM?
  • Lions at Eagles
  • Panthers at Cardinals - Something is off in Carolina.
  • Giants at Buccaneers
  • Texans at Chargers - Texans will survive that West Coast Mojo.
  • Saints at Seahawks - No Brees, no peace.
  • Steelers at 49ers - I think the Steelers could win.  This is exactly the kind of game they win.  But I don't wanna jinx it by picking them.
  • Rams at Browns - Not as bad a Sunday night game as Patriots/Steelers.  But still bad.

Monday, 9/23

  • Bears at Redskins - If Mitch can keep Bad Mitch at bay.

With Newton apparently being out, I'm tempted to change my pick for that game. Tempted.....but not gonna.

Still way early but 178th 2018 pick / Nick Foles replacement Gardner Minshew might stick around.  He has the highest completion percentage (74%) three games in of any rookie QB since 1970.  He already holds the single season PAC-12 record for passing yards (4,776, eclipsing Jared Goff) and scored a super high 42 on the Wonderlic, that incredibly nebulous yet still NFL-sanctioned test.   Best, he was nearly named Beowulf at birth.  Got my eye on you, Beowulf.
  • Bengals at Bills
  • Dolphins at Cowboys Crummy GOTW
  • Broncos at Packers
  • Falcons at Colts
  • Ravens at Chiefs Unconvinced by Chiefs' D.
  • Raiders at Vikings
  • Jets at Patriots
  • Lions at Eagles
  • Panthers at Cardinals Time for Kyler Murray to win a game.
  • Giants at Buccaneers Daniel Jones makes snoozer suddenly interesting.
  • Texans at Chargers Rivers tends to feast on Houston.
  • Saints at Seahawks
  • Steelers at 49ers A loss and 0-2 Pitt is pretty much done so it may be close but hard to overcome no more Ben, Bell or Brown.
  • Rams at Browns

Monday, 9/23

  • Bears at Redskins Wash D horrible against good teams Eagles and Cowboys.  Bears' offense surprisingly terrible vs middling teams GB and Denver.   Neither is convincing, so going home.

i feel really sorry for Nick Foles. Lost the Eagles' starting job by having a bad year, gets to start again due to Wentz being injured and wins them a Super Bowl, gets traded to the Jaguars, and loses his starting job due to getting injured.

And I still think Foles is a better QB than Wentz. Wentz is just better at scrambling.

Sunday, 9/22

  • Bengals at Bills
  • Dolphins at Cowboys
  • Broncos at Packers
  • Falcons at Colts
  • Ravens at Chiefs
  • Raiders at Vikings - HAGERMAN DISAGREES!!! I feel like you're baiting me, dude.
  • Jets at Patriots
  • Lions at Eagles - HAGERMAN DISAGREES!  Everyone is high on the Eagles, but did you honestly see how many players went out last week?  Perfect setup for a road upset.
  • Panthers at Cardinals
  • Giants at Buccaneers - HAGERMAN DISAGREES!!! Who are the Bucs, really?  Are they the shitstorm from the first week or the impressive team from the second?  I think the switch at QB for the G-Men ignites a spark.
  • Texans at Chargers - HAGERMAN DISAGREES!!! I just don't have any faith in the Texans.  Watson gets hurt this game because his line is awful and can't protect him.
  • Saints at Seahawks
  • Steelers at 49ers - HAGERMAN DISAGREES!!! I'l take the Steelers not falling to 0-3.  All the more sweet because I have more faith in his team than he does!
  • Rams at Browns

Monday, 9/23

  • Bears at Redskins
A massive FIVE disagrees spanning the entirety of football Sunday.  Bring it, Hagerman!

FYI I feel like Hagerman and I are the only two taking any sort of rivalry seriously in this picking scenario.  That's cool, but it's just kinda...weird.

As soon as the charges emerged, it was no longer a question of if but when he'd be gone.  Though Brown is still extremely capable on the field, I'm glad Kraft ended the circus.  Now the question is... which team will be desperate enough to pick him up off the scrap heap from here.

Go read the link I posted in the NFL News thread, Rick. I doubt any team will be willing to touch him for now.

The NFL issued a statement about the situation that might make owners and GMs wary of touching him. Want to sign a guy who could be suspended by the league or arrested by police at any time now?

You know and I know the league can pretty much place him on the exempt list any time they want (and that seems likely once he's not a free agent.)    It may require time for the myriad of legal charges to play out.  The non-payment of bills stuff sure looks damning but seems possible to resolve with restitution and fines, something Brown can presumably afford.  I believe Britney Taylor is telling the truth but it may be hard for her to prove her case after all this time.  Civil cases have a lower burden, but we'll see.

Incorrigibles bounce all over the league spreading cancer everywhere they go yet if they have real talent they seem to find another shot from someone else eventually. The question is: can Brown can stay out of trouble for a minute.  If he can, Brown has the kind of talent I bet eventually lands him another chance down the line.
