Chris did Alien AND Aliens with the X-Men. As a reader, I always had suspicions regarding story inspiration, but to get them confirmed is kinda nutty.

I haven't read the book by Claire North / Catherine Webb, but Hickman has cited the use of reincarnation while retaining memory as only a device within for his 12 part story and not the primary vehicle for the story. How much latitude in a person's definition of plagiarism seems to be deciding factor here. I do like that both authors are being gracious with their reactions and not lighting each other up.

Even before The Brood, there was that N'gari (sp.?) demon that Kitty fought off alone in the mansion on Christmas Eve.

Could someone who is reading the Hickman story comment on the differences from John's Donna Troy issues of Wonder Woman? I would like to know, but I can't seem to force myself to read the X-Men stuff now.

Matt, that is what I considered Alien. The Brood stuff from the Paul Smith run was what I considered Aliens. =)

That was the #143 reference I was making. With the Brood, he did ALIENS before James Cameron got to it.

Beyond all the precedents like REPLAY or GROUNDHOG DAY, Marvel already had a character who lives his life over and over again starting from infancy with Starhawk from Guardians of the Galaxy. So it’s not a novel idea for a Marvel book.

Thanks. (The TV miniseries was a marvelous adaptation, wasn't it?)

Wolverine's pre-Ninja subtle background connection to Japan was originally handled quite well, in my opinion. Very lovely scenes with Mariko.

I don't know why it took my so long to figure out that Claremont was copying other sources during his X-MEN wrong. Maybe I was just too young to notice.
