COROLLARY: Mr. Byrne, one of the advents as comics moved into the late 60s and into the 70s, panel layout started losing its standard design, and began "dancing" around, with arrows leading from this panel to the next to the next... which were not panel 1, then 2, then 3, etc. Extended panels, misshapen panels - it drove me nuts.

Even panels where the balloons were not laid out from top left towards bottom right, so I felt that I missed something someone said because it was a response that was to the left, or above, the initial bubble in a panel.

Then I look at your work - specifically Elsewhen at the moment - and see how to lay it out the way a pro does. What a relief!

The first two aren't too shabby either!

This is the best newspaper strip I've read in years!

Just great to see this all unfold. As a Cyclops fan, everything we have seen so
far is so wonderful.

Looking ahead, I see my first Monday publishing schedule is going to create quite a drought at the beginning of October. Prepare yourselves!

On the bright side, October to November will be a smooth transition!

(For that matter, so will August to September.)

JB,

A few years ago, I referred your then-state of “not writing” as ennui.
Based on these 2+ issues, is it safe to say that the ennui has passed?

I would not have called it ennui. Just didn't feel like drawing.

Good morning, all! I'm digging the variety of angles/perspectives we're getting with each new page. The shot (because it looks like it was caught on camera) of Kitty going through the wall was well done, too.

In my early days with Kitty, I often thought what an odd experience it must be for her to walk into walls without hesitation--at least, until she got used to it. I would find myself thinking of William Shatner in STAR TREK blooper reels, crashing into elevator doors that didn't open on cue.

(Small "reference" to this in the first issue.)

This series is just so fun! I'm really loving that it brings nostalgic feelings for me, but it is in no way playing to nostalgia. They are fresh, new stories.

I appreciate Cyclops' revised visor, much truer to the original. Slimmer for Slim!
