Aside from the obvious, such as Daredevil's heightened senses, Captain America's enhanced physical attributes, Iron Fist's Iron Fist etc, what skills and techniques do these characters possess that would give them an advantage over the other characters, should a misunderstanding occur? Though I should add, I'm not looking for a who-would-win answer, because I believe any one of the four could conceivably win a fight with any one of the others.
One other thing I'll add to the question, however--I've chosen these four characters because, to me, they are the premier characters of the heroes whose primary attribute is their fighting skill (though Iron Fist is in the name, so maybe I'm stretching it a bit there). But if you'd like to include other characters such as Blue Beetle, Shang-Chi or the Question, feel free, just tell me why I'm wrong to believe that the other four are a class above in the fighting skills department.

If we're not judging how they fight, then what is your criteria for comparing them? Is a "misunderstanding" an argument? Then I would give it to Daredevil - lawyers are good at winning arguments.
I guess I don't understand "should a misunderstanding occur." It's not the kind of language you see in a comic book.
"NEXT ISSUE - A MISUNDERSTANDING OCCURS!!!" isn't much of a sales motivator!

To my fanboy self...Captain America beats any “normal” human, no matter how skilled. It might take him awhile if his opponent is really...really good. But in the end...in time...Cap wins.
Cap beats Daredevil. He is stronger...faster and has the endurance that eventually Daredevil couldn’t match.
Cap beats Shang-Chi. See above. One hell of a fight...but Cap has the edge due to superior physiology.
Cap beats Iron Fist...as long as the shield is in play to counter the iron fist itself. Again...its one hell of a fight.
Now it gets dicey when you consider say...Wolverine. Cap can beat on Wolverine all day...but if he can heal and recover he might wear Cap down...in a fight that could probably last for days with these two. The first one to make the biggest mistake loses....except Wolverine can deliver a killing blow. The shield is Cap’s ace in this case. That’s the leveling factor.
My two-cents.
Your mileage may vary.....

Batman's brain! The way he processes any given situation, puts him 3 or 4 moves ahead of the next guy.

Cap has better fighting skills than all those other Marvel guys. But with his "radar sense" Daredevil does have one trick -- assuming he's having a good day, he might be able to dodge Cap's every move because he knows when they're coming. And even Cap gets tired. Then again, Cap would figure this out. So...draw?

Just one of the many reasons I loved JB's Batman- Captain America. The two of them battling each other to a stand still while in their civvies was perfect! Great way to keep both Batman AND Cap fans happy!

Is Cap *really* physically superior to Daredevil, though?
Not in the dark.

Out of those four, Cap wins, even without his shield. They're all highly trained in martial arts, though I see Batman and Cap's training as being broader than Daredevil or Iron Fist. But Cap is stronger than them all, has better endurance, his bones are probably a little more resistant to breaking, and so on. He also wears chain mail, though that's a little outside the scope of the discussion.

Not to insult anybody's favorites (especially since I love all these characters), but I think I've seen Batman (in more realistic stories) have trouble with three guys, while Iron Fist could take four guys (without his Iron Fist), Daredevil's cleared a bar of at least five good fighters, while Captain America has tackled a dozen armed and trained soldiers or agents and is the last one standing at the end. But send twenty trained assassins after him, and Shang Chi just doesn't stop. If you add Wolverine, I think any of these could get past his defenses and knock him out, putting him down at least temporarily. So, I would rank them thusly:
!. Shang Chi 2. Captain America (my favorite!) 3. Daredevil 4. Iron Fist 5. Batman (very close to being my favorite) 6. Wolverine
One on one, it gets more even. And, if you add powers, it does make for more action, but I think that ranking holds.

I think any of the 4 you mentioned could potentially win any fight due to their high level of skill. Iron First, Daredevil, Captain America and Batman are all at or near the top of what a human can achieve.
That being said, the super-solider serum makes Captain America the physical superior of any of the other 3 so I would say Cap wins 7 times out of 10 in any fight. If he has an off day though or it's an unusual situation(fighting at night with Daredevil) then he could lose.
Imo Wolverine is the least skilled compared to the other 4 but he's also the most dangerous since he's the one most likely to kill while the others I believe always hold back slightly as they value human life.

I think it would take a true superhuman to ‘knock out’ Wolverine. Or at least it should based on past demonstrations of his abilities.
Consider the punishment he CAN take and survive. Jahf the Guardian can tell you a tale about how he punched some hairy Terran into orbit....and that Terran is still alive to this day.
Wolverine was punched.....INTO ORBIT.....and he survived.
Wolverine is NOT a normal human combatant by any stretch.
Iron Fist (if he can land THAT blow) could beat him. IF he can land that blow.
Does Wolverine’s healing factor repair the kind of nerve strikes that a skilled martial artist like Batman or Shang Chi might employ? Because thats the only way I can see anyone who isn’t superhuman (in strength or ability) could damage him.
