Would you pencil with the separations in mind, JB?

**

Now THAT would be a fool's errand! It was impossible to guess what kinds of changes might occur between the colorists and the separators. A "good" example is in NAMOR, where I asked for a character to have a deep tan. When the book came out, he was purple!!!

One of my chief grumbles is with those artists who insist on drawing the Green Lantern uniform with little leggings, almost like trunks.

++++++++

Just the other day, I saw this GL bendy toy at a store, and was thinking exactly the same thing. Looks to be based on Darwin Cooke’s NEW FRONTIER version, which I believe also had the “trunks”.

Yes, Cooke seemed to put trunks on everybody. Really not a good look.

Trunks could be a great look for the Silver Surfer or Namor. Probably not so much so for Iron Man, the Hulk, or Galactus (and let's face it... who sells size 148 Speedos?)

Let’s agree you’re wrong.

Kirby often used the “trunks” form—but inconsistently, even panel to panel. Mostly he seemed to use it for angles that would be difficult to pull of otherwise.

Mr. Byrne, it was supposed to be funny. Don't Namor and the Surfer already wear trunks? Or am I calling them the wrong name?

Namor wears a speedo and silver surfer is in a head to toe cosmic silver body suit.

I'm going to lock this thread now.

And, y'know what? I'm going to delete any future threads that start this topic up again. It's a pointless debate.
