CONSEQUENCES!!!!

Something of unparalleled traumatic significance occurs and people call it “the Blip”? What would be a real world equivalent? Calling the Holocaust “the Zap”? Calling slavery “the Owie”? Calling WW2 “the Oops”?

sigh

<<By his 3rd appearance in Infinity War, he had it on the bus. >>

Ah of course, I forgot about that, Jason!

Over all, I think they are handling it well...except for the "Peter Tingle" part. It's cool when it comes to a parody, but not for this.

JB, do you think calling a mass genocide event "The Blip" and attempt to explain it in an "All Ages" kinda way? Sometimes I think people don't understand how complex writing "All Ages" stories really is.

Hey, I know Banner is clever... but planning the return locations for half the population of the Earth!?!?

Earth and the entire Universe too!

Something of this magnitude is what superheroes PREVENT, not what they “fix”.

See Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, first coming of Galactus.

I feel like I’m the only person who read the Infinity Gauntlet comics. In that series, all those people disappearing barely constituted a subplot and universe-scale death and destruction was undone and forgotten. The movies are masterpieces of seriousness, logic and consequence by comparison.

And for “The Blip,” the people on the receiving end of this “mass genocide event” ALL SURVIVED, experiencing it as a blackout. How traumatized would a bunch of teenagers actually be? The last Avengers movie spent a somber half-hour processing the trauma. There should be another movie about it? Besides, getting the fuck over massive catastrophes is what Marvel Universe civilians do.

People are overthinking the return.

You are asking how Banner could ensure that people were safe? Yet accepting he can bring back EVERYONE who went with the snap. People, Aliens, animals that he did not know.

Which of those is the hardest?
Don’t overthink, go with the flow

The SNAP: when Thanos wiped everyone out.

The BLIP: when Hulk brought everyone back.

And ‘Peter Tingle’ was the silly name his aunt gave his spider sense. Even Peter doesn’t know what to call his ability yet.  And he’s is just now learning HOW to use it.

Sheesh.

I know we're talking fiction here, but a lot, I would think. Everyone in their lives who didn't get snapped, aged 5 years and moved on with their lives. That's a big chunk of time in a teenager's life to lose. Younger siblings are now older siblings, relatives could have passed away, parents remarried with new child, etc, etc.

How would you feel if you got knocked out and woke up thinking only seconds passed, only to find out it's been 5 years?

...just now learning how to use it.

Good luck with that! In more than fifty years the comics couldn’t give us a consensus on what it does!

Spidey's webshooters to be renamed "Peter's goo squirters." Less on the nose, say the filmmakers.
