This got a very limited release in theaters, but CNN has now been showing its documentary film APOLLO 11 on certain days & times on its cable station...

Absolutely stunning footage, and a stupendous presentation.  I wasn't even alive back in 1969, and I quickly got choked-up at the first sound of Walter Cronkite's voice.

Search it out, DVR it, do what you can to see it.  Highly recommended!

The film footage is a big upgrade in a lot of cases from what we have seen before (I wasn't quite two years old at the time). Definitely makes the events that much more real. I also watched a PBS program on Neil Armstrong that really showed what a remarkable pilot and person he was, and another on John Glenn, ditto! Definitely two men worthy of the term hero but who weren't vainly after the term in any way I don't think. A credit to their nation and the entire world.
